Software Engineering Technology students from Conestoga College develop robust, effective software solutions for some of the most exciting and fast-paced industries today. Our annual tradition is to celebrate our graduating class' successes with all of our community partners and we are asking you to join us!
Our annual Project Day is a FREE trade show style exhibition of student capstone projects worth 8 months of design and development by our graduating class.
COMMUNITECH will be the host and site of this year's SET Project Day!
Join us at the Communitech Hub, 151 Charles St. W., Kitchener, ON.
Join us Thursday, April 26 2018 from 11 am - 3 pm to explore solutions addressing the needs of industry partners, research initiatives and early-stage start-ups!
Augmented and Virtual Reality Projects will be leading the pack this year. Specific solutions being developed range across a number of educational, industrial, R&D, and tourism solutions. Join us for some excellent and interactive demos where you can take a virtual tour of Paris Ontario, help us test the effectiveness of VR controllers (e.g. Vive vs. Oculus), and finally see what robots are really thinking.
IoT - Internet of Things is well represented again this year. Inspired by a SET graduate from last year's class, two teams are deploying their skills to help monitor industrial and residential scale crop management solutions. These solutions demonstrate a high level of device integration, as does a new monitoring solution that will promote safety, dignity and privacy in long-term care facilities.
Solutions for Education will provide assistance to ECE educators who work with young children in one solution, while in another, instructors will gain a new toolset to evaluate computer programming code seamlessly within existing Learning Management Systems (LMS) like Desire2Lean and Moodle.
Blockchain, Business Management and Security solutions will also be available for you to review. SET students have implemented leading edge technologies, like IBM's Watson, to provide advance machine learning capabilities.
We invite all our industry partners, media contacts, faculty, friends and family to join us on site for this event. Kindly RSVP in advance, and help spread the word!
There is no cost to attend this event.
